Artist Statement
When I began working on images for the show, my intention was to create a body of urban images that evolved from the casual observation of familiar architectural nuance that would become fragmented and stylized. Ideally, these images would create a visual context that would be both familiar but at the same time foreign. Technically, my goal was to create images in both digital as well as in traditional mediums, hoping to allow both the traditional and digital to complement each other. The resultant work satisfies many of my objectives and is visually very much about Racine and a bit of Milwaukee, but from a perspective not singly perceived.
