Short-form video, meant to be watched, in social media, is becoming the way many people experience their newsfeeds. “We’re entering this new golden age of video,” Mark Zuckerberg told BuzzFeed News. “I wouldn’t be surprised if you fast-forward five years and most of the content that people see on Facebook and are sharing on a day-to-day basis is video.” In this hands-on workshop, learn how to produce quick and entertaining videos––from six seconds to six minutes long––using tools and apps like Animoto, Magisto, and Adobe Spark.

Speaker: Tim Cigelske is Director of Integrated Content at Marquette University and an adjunct professor teaching media writing and social media analytics and measurement in the College of Communication. Cigelske has managed Marquette’s social media for more than 10 years, and he earned his masters in Communications with a thesis on the topic of Gen Z’s use of Snapchat. He is the author of Analytics to Action: A Guide to Social Media Measurement.
