RAM Docent

RAM docents serve as valuable guides for scheduled tours, school field trips, Free First Fridays, and special events at RAM and Wustum.

The rewarding benefits of being a docent include: an extensive art education, behind-the-scenes experiences, and discussions with the museum's curators and other docents.

Docent Requirements

Docent Trainees must attend all new docent class training sessions.

Docent Trainees must shadow other docents throughout the training period.

Docents are required to attend scheduled meetings and exhibition walk through tours conducted by the Racine Art Museum Director/Curator of Collections and Curator of Exhibitions. These are usually held on Mondays beginning at 9:00 am.

A commitment of 20-25 tours or events per year is required.

Docents are expected to become Racine Art Museum member and will receive the same benefits as such.

Docents are encouraged to attend further training sessions that are offered, as well as other art enriching tours, lectures and classes.
