Eligibility
Any artist who is a resident of (or maintains a residence in) Wisconsin and is 18 years or older.

Submit $35 here, Free for RAM members

Submission of Entries
  • One or two works made after 2015 may be entered.
  • Work must be executed in an aqueous medium or water-based medium combined with dry or mixed media; for example: watercolor, acrylic, ink, or gouache.
  • All work must be on a paper surface, including 2-D, collage, book, or 3-D construction. Canvas, canvas panels, yupo, and non-paper surfaces are unacceptable.
  • Work must be framed adequately, glazed with glass or Plexiglas®, and wired for hanging. Sawtooth hangers are not acceptable. Consult staff for deviations from this rule before Wednesday, October 3. RAM reserves the right to refuse works that do not meet the museum’s standards for quality, presentation, and framing.
  • Work must not have been created under the direct supervision of a teacher.
  • Work must not have been exhibited at RAM’s Wustum Museum or RAM.
  • Submissions must meet all requirements listed above.

Ship Work to Racine Art Museum, 441 Main Street

  • ​Send entries prepaid, in sturdy, returnable, well-marked cartons.
  • ​Provide return shipping fees. Attached payment to the registration card.

Jurors
Gretchen Burch is Principal of GB Fine Art in Oak Park, Illinois where she prepares in-depth, customized art appraisals for major collectors. W ith previous experience as a Lead Specialist in the Fine Arts department at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, Burch is a Certified Member of the prestigious Appraisers Association of America.


Beth Shadur is an Artist-in-Education for the Illinois Arts Council in Chicago, Illinois. Her work as an artist has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions in the United States and abroad and she has created over 150 large murals as public, private, and community art projects in both the United States and Great Britain.

Publicity
Submitting artwork to this competition constitutes an agreement by the artists with RAM to photograph and reproduce work for publicity and catalogue purposes.

Valuation of Submitted Work
Prices may not be changed after entry, and should represent the retail price of the framed work. Please note that RAM collects a 40% commission on works that are for sale. If your entry is not for sale (NFS), please include an insurance value.

Insurance and Liability
Entries will be handled with care, but RAM is not responsible for loss or damage from any cause, whatsoever, during jurying. RAM assumes liability for works selected for exhibition.

Purchase Awards
RAM uses Purchase Awards to buy works from the exhibition for the museum’s collection. Note: Artists willing to accept standard Purchase Awards of $300, $500 or $800––even when the retail sale price is higher––should check the appropriate box on the Registration Card. RAM reserves the right to choose to purchase works at 60% of the sale price, whether the net amount to the artist is less or more than the standard Purchase Awards.
