SPARK! programs are held monthly at RAM’s Wustum Museum. Developed to provide a stimulating\, yet non-threatening atmosphere\, these creative experiences encourage the person with memory loss to actively engage in the moment and leave with a feeling of accomplishment and worth. These programs are equally important for the caregiver/care family—to have an engaging time with their loved one. \nEach program offers a unique mix of engagement-focused activities explored through visual art conversation\, sensory stimulants\, creative writing/poetry\, music\, the art of movement\, and hands-on art-making. \nThere are over 25 SPARK! organizations in Wisconsin\, Minnesota\, and Michigan that provide free engagement programming for people with memory loss and their care circles. DESCRIPTION:Acrylic Painting\nPhotography: RAM Education Staff\n8 Weeks\, March 15 – May 2\nTuesdays\, 6:00 – 8:30 pm\n \nInstructor/Artist: Steve Rys \nDiscover the basics of using acrylic paints—a forgiving art medium—as well as color mixing and compositional techniques. Fearless play is encouraged in this class\, which focuses on portraiture and still lives. \nA downloadable list of supplies for this class is available below. \nAlthough the City of Racine’s face mask mandate has been lifted\, students are still encouraged to wear a mask during this class. \nFees: $120 Members   $150 Non-Members \nOnline registration closes two days before class begins. After that\, call RAM’s Wustum Museum at 262.636.9177 to confirm availability. \nClass cancellations can happen if enrollment minimums are not met two days prior to the first class.
