Young Men with a Woman Teapot
Akio Takamori

Patti Warashina has been fascinated by the human figure, utilizing it in various forms in her work throughout her career, such as in Apple Breath (Teapot.) For Warashina, the body gives affirmation to her daily existence and serves as the subject of her own “visual diary.” She incorporates humor and social commentary to address a variety of topics from the absurdity of contemporary social media to the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
