Blooming Hibiscus Purse

Lindsay Locatelli uses polymer—as well as wood, gold leaf, and other materials—to create adornment based on her experiences with the vibrant landscape and flora and fauna of the American Southwest, as seen in Cactus at Dusk (Neckpiece.) Intent on hand-fabricating—and drawing on a background in graphic and furniture design—Locatelli not only creates art jewelry that straddles the line of wearability, she also often considers the place of adornment off the body.
