About the artwork.

Born and raised in Mexico, Lorena Angulo responds to her heritage through her artwork, such as in her Milagro Heart Tree of Life brooch. Angulo is influenced by traditional Mexican folk art as well as a desire to create compelling objects that tell stories and keep viewers engaged. She uses metal clay to create most of her work—a versatile material that can be manipulated and fired like clay but also comprised of and looking like metal.
