Museum’s Afternoon Chair

While an innovator in studio furniture, Tommy Simpson does not limit his creativity to that type of work as he creates sculpture, quilts, rugs, paintings, jewelry, and more. Pieces like Museum’s Afternoon Chair–more sculptural than functional–reflect his desire to blend personal and cultural references, here in the form of found objects such as a nineteenth-century ceramic transferware plate and a daguerreotype.
