The Lost and Found
Susan Shie and James Acord

Rooted in Wisconsin, Jean Stamsta studied at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Fiberwork Center for the Textile Arts in San Francisco, and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Maine. Long a fan of intense color, Stamsta is known for creating abstract compositions, sculptural forms, imaginative landscapes, and still-lives, and for pioneering the technique of “tubular weaving”—which is exemplified with this piece.
