What’s Your Sign? RAM Virtual Community Art Show

October 12, 2022 – February 11, 2023
at ramart.org

The word zodiac is used to describe an astrological system or, perhaps more often in popular context, the twelve regions that make up the system and identify as “signs.” These signs, associated with different animals or symbols, are also linked to personality traits and the specific day someone was born. Playing to this idea and responding to the RAM exhibition, David R. Harper: Zodiac, Racine Art Museum and RAM’s Wustum Museum invited artists to participate in the third RAM Virtual Community Art Show. In response, 20 artists from around the country submitted work that somehow investigates astrological symbols. With a wide variety of materials represented, these works reflect the originality and imagination of contemporary artists.

The 20 pieces in this exhibition are also accessible via a tablet in the RAM galleries.

Artists in the Exhibition

Alexandria, VA: Alison Sigethy; Brooklyn, NY: Beryl Brenner; Burlington: Gail M. Willert; Kenosha: Rachelle Graham, Kendra Voelz; Madison: Howard Schwartz; Mequon: Thomas Lemke; Milwaukee: Nick Schroeder; Mt. Pleasant: Eileen Black, Celia Amantea Schulz; Racine: Patricia Fallon, Wesley Fallon, Jessie Lynn McMains, Penny Nichols, Arian Rana, Cassandra Riojas, Kelly Witte; Stevens Point: Erin Prais-Hintz; Ventnor, NJ: Amanda Auble; Wauwatosa: Carl Hartt
