RAM’s Wustum Museum is nationally known for its outreach programs that encourage at-risk children to stay in school and help establish an environment of lifelong interest in the arts.

RAM on the Road

RAM on the Road drives the museum’s quality educational art programs to the community. The vehicle takes art teachers, materials and supplies to schools, day cares, and everywhere along the way.

SPARK!—Providing Cultural Programming for People with Memory Loss

SPARK! provides enriching experiences at both museums, including hands-on art activities, art conversations, poetry, dance and movement to people with memory loss, as well as to their caregivers.

SPARK! on the Road

Trained museum engagement educators will bring visual art focused programs to senior groups with early to early mid-stage dementia or memory loss.

Free Group Tours for Kids, Ages 4 and up

The Racine Art Museum offers art experiences to children attending Racine county public and private schools, day cares, after-school, home-school, and children’s organizations/groups. Tours for Kids provides a 45-minute tour of RAM’s award-winning art museum to provide an understanding of RAM’s contemporary craft collection.

Art Reach K-8

Plan an enriching trip for students K-8. The program provides a guided tour of the current exhibition at Wustum and a corresponding hands-on art project. The two-hour Art Reach workshops are offered Wednesday and Thursday. Two-hour Art Reach workshops are offered Wednesday and Thursday, based on availability. Cost is $5 per child, minimum of 20 children.

Outreach 4 and Outreach 5

Each year since 1984, Wustum has hosted nearly 2,000 Racine area fourth grade students for a guided tour of the current exhibition and a hands-on art project in a related medium. Starting in 2019, Outreach 5 is offered to all public and private school fifth grade students in the Racine metropolitan area. Watch Discovering RAM.

Girl Scout and Boy Scout Programs

Badge Programs

RAM’s Wustum Museum offers badge programs for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

  • Programs are three hours long.

  • There is a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 60 scouts.

  • One adult chaperone for every 10 children is required.

  • Fees are based on badge/activity desired and range $10 to $20 per scout.

  • Programs must be scheduled at least six weeks in advance.
