Someday My Prints Will Come: Wisconsin Printmakers in RAM’s Collection

September 14 – November 27, 2010

This exhibition is a survey of prints made in the last 75 years by artists who have an affiliation with the state of Wisconsin. Combining historical and contemporary works—from landscapes and historical subjects to abstract patterns and geometric compositions—the show highlights the strong holdings of RAM’s works on paper collection.

Of the over 765 graphics in the collection, 265 are Works Progress Administration (WPA) pieces primarily from the New York City and State of Wisconsin programs. The museum features the works of both well-known WPA artists Schomer Lichtner, Alfred Sessler, and Santos Zingale, and lesser-known participants Mary Bleck, Agnes Jessen, Charles Reynolds, and Frank Utpatel.
