Site-Specific Installation for PEEPS® Brand Art Exhibition 2026

Digital Entry Deadline: Friday, December 5, at 4:00 pm

Since 2010, the Racine Art Museum has been encouraging the use of PEEPS® Brand marshmallow candy as material and inspiration for a beloved annual tradition—the PEEPS® Brand Art Exhibition. Capturing the attention of art-lovers worldwide, this signature experience invites artists to work with a new creative medium, while simultaneously providing an opportunity for creatives of all ages and skill levels to craft work with the intent of having it displayed in a museum-setting.

New this year, RAM is looking to host a large-scale, site-specific work as part of a re-imagined PEEPS® Brand Art Exhibition that also sees the fan-favorite experience move to one of the museum’s featured galleries. Artists are invited to submit proposals to create a specialty work that complements the exhibition and captures the spirit of the show that visitors love.

Please note that this is not a call for exhibition pieces. Rules and entry information for PEEPS® Brand Art Exhibition 2026 will be forthcoming shortly.

Any Questions? Please contact RAM Exhibition Support/Production Assistant Ashley Bohne via email abohne@ramart.org or call 262.619.3536.

  • Artists must be available to install their own work onsite at RAM during a designated timeframe—March 18 – 20, 2026, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Artists are also responsible for providing their own transportation to and from RAM.

  • RAM full-time employees are not eligible to apply. Past employees, instructors at RAM’s Wustum Museum, and part-time employees are eligible.

  • Artists may only submit one proposal.

  • There is no entry fee to submit a proposal.

  • Written proposal/vision statement describing the work, inspiration, and creation methods. (Maximum 300 words)

  • Link to artist website/social media, if applicable.

Requirements and Specifications

  • Work should be created specifically for this installation.

  • Artists are invited to explore any media for this installation, including clay, wood, paper, metal, wax, paint, textile, photography, printmaking, collage, assemblage, etc. The museum cannot accept entries that include liquids, soil, living organisms, or food other than PEEPS® Brand marshmallow candies.

  • This work will be housed in one of RAM’s first floor galleries behind a set of interior-facing glass panels, and must be created to fit the space:

    • The installation space is 34 feet and 9 inches long, 38 inches deep, and 8 feet tall. It is only accessible from the east most side, which is the point of entry for both getting work into and arranging the space.
    • The seven glass panels in front of the installation space are each 59 1/2 inches wide, except for the east most panel which is 58 inches.
    • Due to potential for damage to the installation space, work should be floor-supported. Wall-mounted or ceiling-supported work is not allowed.
    • No permanent alterations to the installation space can be made.
  • Artist is responsible for providing any supports or pedestals necessary to accomplish their installation.

Do’s and Don’ts

Do:

  • Create work that fits into the lighthearted and family-friendly spirit of the exhibition. PEEPS® Brand marshmallow candies are humorous, festive, playful, wholesome, fun and quirky—RAM would love to see artists embrace that in their proposals!

  • Express your personal artistic style. Proposed work can be figurative, abstract, representational, etc., and can be created in any media you choose.

  • Create work that is large-scale and site-specific. RAM staff will select a work that best engages this unique space.

  • Finish your work on all visible sides. Keep in mind that completed work will be viewable from many angles.

Don’t:

  • Promote local or national businesses. Entries should be a product of your own imagination. Please avoid using logos, trademarks, slogans, intellectual property, etc. for companies other than JustBorn®, creator of PEEPS® Brand marshmallow candies.

  • Permanently alter the display space, including bolting anything to the floor. Work must be floor-supported, and it should be free-standing or supported on artist-provided pedestals or other display-pieces.

  • Create work that needs to be wall-mounted or ceiling supported. Due to limitations in the installation space, work should be self-supported and free-standing.

  • Submit a separate entry to PEEPS® Brand Art Exhibition 2026 if proposal is chosen. Those who submit proposals that are not selected are allowed—and encouraged—to submit a piece into the exhibition, following all rules and requirements listed in forthcoming exhibition prospectus.

  • Submit a proposal if unable to install or de-install work during the designated timeframes. This installation coincides with PEEPS® Brand Art Exhibition 2026, April 1–18, 2026, and installation timing is not flexible. Artists are also responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the museum.
