Frequently Asked Questions

There are no eligibility requirements for this exhibition. Individuals of all ages, located anywhere in the world, can submit a family-friendly piece using or inspired by PEEPS® Brand marshmallow candies.

With this exhibition being a favorite among young visitors and adults alike, RAM likes to keep this show lighthearted and fun. The museum asks that you refrain from depicting gore, extreme violence, nudity, profanity, sexual content, and other sensitive topics in your piece. RAM reserves the right to reject pieces based on these grounds.

Feel free to let your creativity and imagination run wild. In the past, RAM has seen many pieces inspired by popular movies, tv, shows, celebrities, famous artists/artworks, travel destinations, animals/mythical creatures, holidays, or PEEPS® themselves. As long as your piece is family-friendly, you can make whatever you dream up! RAM reserves the right to turn away pieces that don’t have a clear connection to PEEPS® or the lighthearted nature of the exhibition.

RAM also recommends that three-dimensional pieces be visible from a variety of angles to accommodate viewers of all ages.

Please refrain from using electrical, auditory, and tactile elements in your piece. Due to the volume of exhibition entries, RAM is unable to support the individual needs of specialty pieces.

No. Pieces may use PEEPS® Brand marshmallow candy of any holiday variety or be your own representation of the candy. Please note that PEEPS® Brand marshmallow candy is the only acceptable food material. Other food items—including other PEEPS® Brand candies, other marshmallows, sprinkles, chocolate, or other candy—are unacceptable.

No. PEEPS® marshmallow candy can be used in any way. Cut them up, melt them down, leave them whole—the choice is yours!

Yes. Quilt squares are acceptable works, and should follow the requirements for a 2D submission. However, quilt squares do not need to be wired for hanging—instead, they may use hanging corners and a dowel rod for installation.

Please note that due to a diminished number of quilt entries in recent years, quilt squares will be hung individually as 2D works of art, rather than arranged into a “quilt” with other submissions.

If you are unable to make it to the two in-person drop-off days—or are submitting an entry from outside of Racine—submissions may be shipped to arrive no earlier than March 9 and no later than March 13.

Ship works to Racine Art Museum, 441 Main Street, Racine, WI 53403, along with attached entry form. Please label any shipments to the attention of Madison Zapata. Prepaid postage must be included if you want return shipping. Works received outside of tis window will not be displayed and will be returned to the sender using the provided return label.

Completely fill out the entry form included in the prospectus and bring to drop-off, or include with your mailed entry.

Pickup is scheduled for museum hours, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, on April 23 and 24. Because RAM cannot have food in the galleries for extended periods of time, all pieces not picked up by May 2 will be disposed of.

If you are unable to pick up your work in-person, arrange to have another person attend the pickup days in your place—please send an email to RAM Exhibition Support/Production Assistant Ashley Bohne at abohne@ramart.org and provide the name of your pickup designee prior to April 22. Work can also be shipped back to you—please provide a prepaid return shipping label and packaging materials during drop-off or when mailing work.

Please indicate on your entry form if you wish RAM to dispose of your artwork at the conclusion of the exhibition.

RAM will accept as many entries that follow display requirements as space allows.

For the first time, RAM PEEPS® Brand Art Exhibition will be held in one of RAM’s first-floor permanent gallery spaces. We hope this move enhances visitor experience by bringing this fan-favorite exhibition to a larger space that better shows off your masterPEEPS®.
