Community Sewing Day at Stitched Quilt Shop

Zig and Zag mock-up on RAM Exterior

On Thursday, July 30, at Stitched Quilt Shop, join artist Amanda Browder for a Community Sewing Day! Attendees are welcome to join in the making of Zig and Zag, an upcoming large-scale fabric installation that will premiere as a featured project in RAM’s inaugural In/Between Festival, September 18 – 27, 2026.

Individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in the creation of this collective project that will adorn, and weave, the exterior of RAM—no sewing experience necessary! Join to sew, trim, pin or chat! Each Public Sewing Day is a perfect opportunity to come and connect with creatives throughout the community—whether you pop in or stay all day!

Ways to participate in Community Sewing Days:

  • Donate colorful fabric. (No clothes, please!)
  • Pin donated fabric together, and get ready to see it later on RAM’s exterior.
  • Sew a few zig zag stitches and learn how to work on a large-scale project.

If you have a sewing machine you love to use, bring it!

All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
