This class is designed for the advanced student with experience. Join this fun Tuesday clay group and work in an open studio environment, practicing potter’s wheel and hand building skills and techniques.
Always wanted to try the potter's wheel but never took the plunge? Tried it in school and want to get back into ceramics? This is the class for you! Discover various techniques through in-depth exploration of form and function to create your own forms on a potter's wheel. Through demonstrations and practice, you will be making pots in just a few hours!
Learn the basics of molding and shaping clay with your hands. Experiment with texture, colored slips, and a variety of tools to make functional and non-functional pieces out of slabs and coils.
Expand your skills and take them to the next level—throw larger vessels with more consistency, or perfect your regular forms. Raku kilns will be fired. This is a great class for those who have previously taken a potter’s wheel class and desire more experience.
Have fun sculpting and learning basic techniques for working with clay.
