Racine Art Guild Juried Competition 2010

June 5 – August 19, 2010

The Racine Art Guild Juried Competitions are organized to demonstrate the creativity of the members of this group of practicing artists. Artworks selected for this show express an understanding of proficiency in art techniques and presentation of work. Work submitted must be original, executed within the last two years, and never exhibited at a previous Art Guild show.

This year’s juror, Jan Serr, creates paintings, works on paper, prints, and artist made books. She earned her B.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Serr taught at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Oakville, Ontario. Her work is in major private, public and corporate collections in the United States and Canada. Internationally, three times Serr has participated in the Art in Embassies program, U.S. State Department. Jan Serr has gallery representation in Chicago, IL; Madison, WI; Milwaukee, WI; and Toronto, Ontario.
