Artist Jeremy Topczewski + The Maple Table—Tony and Tamara LoPiparo
Artist + Food Pairing at SAVOUR 2021:
Off the Street, Into the Woods
Enjoy the wholesome, handcrafted approach to fine food that The Maple Table cultivates—a Racine fixture for farm-to-table fare in downtown Racine. Their ingredients are locally sourced, and full of flavor and goodness, making each dish a mouthwatering experience. The Maple Table dish showcased for SAVOUR is inspired by the wood used in the artwork, painstakingly crafted for SAVOUR by artist Jeremy Topczewski. Rich cherry, black walnut, spalted maple, and red heart were purposefully chosen to make this wall piece striking and vivid.
While Jeremy works his day job teaching generations of students art in the Racine Unified School District (RUSD), he is a prolific artist who has a talent for crafting in many different media and formats—printmaking, bookmaking, 3D printing—and is a skilled carpenter and wood sculptor with an eye for detail and design.
Experience the process of developing a raw piece of wood into an artwork while dining on delectable dishes. Jeremy Topczewski—artist, teacher, maker—will create a specialized wood artwork for the winning bidder. During creation, Jeremy will catalogue the process, and share this experience at your intimate event where the finished piece will be unveiled. The Maple Table will conceive complimentary dishes that speak to the qualities of wood—earthy, grainy, warm, textural—made with ingredients foraged from the forest and procured from local farmers. Each dish will be designed to pay tribute to these characteristics, nurtured in a way that tells a story through taste and aesthetics. This experience can take place at The Maple Table.
This is a package for up to 10 guests, dates must be mutually agreed on by all parties. Expires December 31, 2022.
