Free First Friday at RAM, November 2021

Beaded necklace with a wooden tag, which is etched with a lotus flower design
Petroglyph Necklace inspired by the work of Christina Eustace

Enjoy free RAM admission and extended hours from Noon to 8:00 pm on First Friday, November 5. On view are decorative porcelain vessels and tableware that depict narratives in Collection Focus: Mara Superior; objects with beads as decoration or structure in Get a Bead On: Jewelry and Small Objects; and works that are either playful or thought-provoking—and sometimes both—in Playful/Pensive: Contemporary Artists and Contemporary Issues. Visitors are also invited to look for recent additions to the exhibition, Component Parts: Artworks Made by Multiple Elements.

During the RAM Free Family Hands-On Art Project, 4:00 – 7:00 pm, etch a design into a wooden tag to form a symbolic Petroglyph Neckpiece inspired by Christina Eustace’s work in the exhibition, Get a Bead On.

Avid readers will enjoy a trove of pre-loved books—covering a wide range of genres and subject material—for only $1 each in the RAM Museum Store. Additionally, jewelry lovers will find hundreds of vintage, artist made, and like new necklaces, earrings, brooches, and rings for $10 or less.
