Summer Art Camp: Attack of the Art Invaders! Ages 7–13

Boy Drawing Outside Camp 17

Kids Art Week 5, August 2–5
Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Invasive species, invasive waste, invasive plants, invasive creatures, invasive art. Investigate the concept of invasion and intrusion through innovative art-making! Create imaginary plants, animals, and creatures—maybe even an alien or two—from a bountiful variety of materials. Examine entities such as waste and garbage that are invading our natural world, and utilize creativity to recycle them into art. Learn about street and graffiti art, which is often considered intrusive—think Banksy or Jean Michel Basquiat’s SAMO.

At the end of the week, we will infiltrate the Wustum grounds with our Zero Waste outsider art installations—a pop-up art permeation! A totally cool way to host an art invasion! Parents and family members will be invited to join in the outside fun, and explore the art that was created throughout the week at the annual Gallery Night: Invasion Celebration on Friday, August 5 at 4:00 pm.

Dress for mess and bring a lunch each day. All students and visitors must adhere to the museum’s COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Face masks must be worn at all times. Camp registration is limited. Kids will be split into smaller groups based on enrollment.
