Wisconsin Photography 2024 Opening Reception and Award Ceremony

Join RAM for the Opening Reception of Wisconsin Photography 2024 at RAM’s Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts, 2519 Northwestern Avenue in Racine, on Tuesday, August 27, 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Along with experiencing the exhibition before it officially opens to the public, attendees will also witness the presentation of multiple Purchase Awards to acquire photographs for RAM’s permanent collection. Through these acquisitions, the museum has assembled a vibrant record of Wisconsin photographers and their career developments.

In addition to experiencing 96 works in Wisconsin Photography 2024, attendees will also receive an early preview of the new exhibition, Nicole Acosta: HOOPS—Beyond the Aesthetic Lies the Story. This photography exhibition showcases a portion of the artist’s popular series, The HOOPS Projects, which tells stories of people of the global majority who value hoop earrings—touching on themes of reclamation, power, belonging, and place.
